Founders
John J. Armbruster, DDS, graduated in 1995 from The University of Maryland’s Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He then completed a one-year residency program at Lehigh Valley Hospital Systems in Allentown, PA. Next, Dr. Armbruster was involved in an associateship for two years in Bowie, MD before settling in the Upstate in 1998, with his wife Lisa and their children Bryant and Olivia. He is currently a partner in Woodruff Family Dentistry LLC, Crowns Now, Inc., and Crowns Now Family Dentistry, Inc. He is certified by the American Orthodontic Society, the American Society for Dental Aesthetics, the Academy of Computerized Dentistry, and is also Invisalign certified. Dr. Armbruster is also a member of the World Clinical Laser Institute.
Thorpe A. Jacob, DMD, attended the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a degree in Chemistry and a Doctorate of Dentistry. He served our Country for three years in the United State Navy earning the rank of Lt. and providing dental care to our armed forces. He has been practicing in Woodruff, S.C. for the last 18 years. He is certified by the Warshaw Academy of Oral Surgery, the American Orthodontic Society, the Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics and Orthodontics and the American Society for Dental Aesthetics. He is certified in Bone Biology, Harvesting and Grafting by The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Jacob is also a member of the World Clinical Laser Institute, Academy of Computerized Dentistry, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry and is Invisalign Certified.
Charles R. “Chet” Morris, Jr. graduated from The Citadel in 1985, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Mathematics with a Sequence in Accounting. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1993. Mr. Morris is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University, and a graduate of The South Carolina Banker’s School at the University of South Carolina. After spending more than 17 years in the banking industry, Morris partnered with Dr. Jacob, Dr. Armbruster, Mr. Fahey in November 2003, and serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of their dental corporations.
John R. (Russ) Fahey graduated from Alfred University in Engineering and joined General Electric to continue his education at GE's prestigious Corporate Services at Cotonville. Mr. Fahey worked in Operations and Engineering becoming a General Manger at GE, then in Sales and Subcontracting as President and Senior Executive of a Hong Kong Holding Company all in the semiconductor industry. He participated in 16 Boards and currently is a member of the Board of Trustees of Alfred University. He has extensive international experience in M&A. He holds 21 patents and has three married children.
Vice President of Operations
Zeema Kapacee is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in International Studies and minor in French in 2000. During this time, she spent one year in Rouen, France teaching English to advanced business students and working professionals. After returning to the US, she joined a research and development team at USC which was awarded several grants by the National Institutes of Health to promote physical activity and study the indicators of childhood obesity. With strong interests in health promotion and policy, Miss Kapacee returned to academia at the University of South Carolina to earn a Master of Public Health.
Dentists
Charles E. Flowers, III, DMD is a 1970 graduate of the The Citadel. He also has a Master of History from the University of Alabama. In 1976 he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. In his thirty years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Flowers has worked in public health, solo practice and group practice settings.
C. Michael Wimpy, DMD, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, attended the University of Georgia as an undergraduate and the Medical College of Georgia where he earned his dental degree. He has practiced dentistry in the Greenville area since 1982. He taught in the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs on a part-time basis at Greenville Technical College and at Tri-County Technical College. Dr. Wimpy was also a full-time instructor in a new Dental Hygiene program at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, NC for 3 years where he taught in the areas of oral pathology, anatomy, and dental materials.
J. Scott Rogers, DMD, graduated in 1998 from Clemson University and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from The Medical University of South Carolina in 2004. Dr. Rogers just completed two years of service in Columbia, SC with the National Health Service Corp. While in Columbia, Dr. Rogers served as Clinical Director of the Columbia Oral Health Clinic, a non-profit clinic for the homeless and indigent. Dr. Rogers recently moved to Laurens, SC with his wife Heather and their children Kaitlyn and Jason. He is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Rogers joined Woodruff Family Dentistry in August 2006.
Jamie R. Wheeler, DDS attended Villa Julie College in Stevenson, Maryland where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and later received a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia University in Morgantown. Dr. Wheeler is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Society, and the American Association of Women Dentists. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and now resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
Matthew R. Dickson, DDS is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and later graduated from the West Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Dickson is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He enjoys sailing, scuba diving and snow skiing and currently lives in Greenville, South Carolina.
Registered Dental Hygienists
Catherine Giraldo, RDH, has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1998. Her family consists of her son, Derek, and her 6 cats. She loves her profession and has recently started a full-time position with Woodruff Family Dentistry, LLC. She says “It feels great to be apart of a group that believes the health of our patients comes first.”
Holly Howard, RDH, is a native of Bermuda and has resided in Spartanburg, South Carolina since 1999. She joined Woodruff Family Dentistry, LLC in March 2003 after 9 years in the dental field working as a Dental Assistant and a Front Desk Receptionist in Bermuda and Connecticut. While attending Greenville Technical College she served as Student President of Hygiene in South Carolina and graduated with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene.
Kristen Starnes, RDH graduated from Greenville Technical College in 2003 where she earned an Associate Degree in Health Science with a major in Dental Hygiene. She has a son named Eli. She has been employed with Crowns Now Family Dentistry since September 2003.
Amy King, RDH graduated from Florence-Darlington Technical College in 1994 with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She successfully completed a course in infiltration in anesthesia in 2002. After working with a periodontist for five years, Amy moved from Hartsville, SC to join her husband in Clinton, SC. Amy has enjoyed being a dental hygienist for 13 years and has recently joined Woodruff Family Dentistry, LLC.
